Wednesday Market, Ramla
Urban Planning Project
The project proposes a new urban neighborhood in Ramla, developed around the existing Wednesday Market area.
Located north of Highway 40, the plan integrates residential development with commerce, employment, public institutions, and open public spaces.
The market is treated as an active urban anchor rather than a standalone object.
It functions as part of a continuous public structure that supports daily activity, movement, and informal use.
The plan includes approximately 1,500 housing units, alongside commercial and employment areas, preserved buildings, and a network of public open spaces.
Particular attention was given to continuity between new development and the existing urban fabric, and to the relationship between built form and everyday urban life.
The project was prepared as a statutory planning scheme and developed in collaboration with Alonim Gurevitch Architects.
